“The Opera House,” the documentary on the MET Opera’s move to Lincoln Center can be watched in its entirety on the PBS website until June 8th at the link above.
In it, I tell the story of my father’s, Architect Tad Leski’s contribution, as W.K.Harrison’s designer for the Metropolitan Opera House & creator of the concept for its Chandelier at ~ 1:02:00 and 1:21:00. My father was very gifted. W.K. Harrison recognized this, kept him close and on hand for all the important design work. We even lived next door to Harrison on the adjacent piece of property which WKH sold us. But, as an immigrant, he never received any credit for his life’s work! That is why this film is so important for my sisters and I. I hope you see this great film by Susan Froemke.
